circleindigo supported a new Teaching School Alliance based across two schools with Outstanding Ofsted status in defining their Business Model for the whole Teaching School and reviewing their customer segments, value propositions, delivery channels, customer relationships, revenue streams, key resources, key activities, partnerships and outline cost structure.
Business need
- To develop an over-arching business model for the Teaching School Alliance
- To identify and outline the 9 key building blocks of the business model:
- Customer segments (who are the customers?)
- Value propositions (what are we delivering to the customers?)
- Delivery channels (how are we delivering to the customers?)
- Customer relationships (what relationship do we want with the customers?)
- Revenue streams (how will the ‘business’ make money?)
- Key resources (what is needed to deliver what we offer to the customers?)
- Key activities (what needs to be done to deliver what we offer to the customers?)
- Key partnerships (who else will help deliver to the customers?)
- Cost structure (What are the costs?)
- To engage all of the Teaching School Alliance leadership team
- To align the leadership team around a common and agreed business model
- To plan what needed to happen next
What circleindigo did
- Consultation with the two senior leadership team members to understand the organisational context
- Designed and delivered a half day business model definition workshop to develop and build a business model for moving forwards
- Created a highly participative and interactive workshop
- Involved all key Teaching School Alliance leadership team members
Outcomes
- Created and defined a high-level business model for the Teaching School Alliance
- Leadership team engaged and worked together cohesively and in agreement to the way forward
- Clear actions for the way forward
